New Officer Virtual Academy Course: Improvised Weapons Identification & Awareness
Source Officer.com News
One of the biggest challenges any law enforcement professional faces is self-improvement while working rotating shifts. Between sleeping during different parts of the day, spending time with family, and handling personal duties/chores, making time for classes on any type of schedule is difficult at best. In answer to this challenge, Officer Media Group has launched the Officer Virtual Academy (OVA).
The newest course added to the virtual academy is devoted to Improvised Weapons Identification and Awareness. Participants will learn how to be alert for and recognize improvised weapons, and the training will look at improvised or unique firearms, edged weapons, impact weapons and tools used to escape custody.
The course includes a PowerPoint slide show that corresponds to the four training videos. The total viewing time for the videos is approximately 35 minutes broken down into four segments. For viewer’s reference, there is also a downloadable PDF version of the PowerPoint presentation, perfect for use in taking notes. A course syllabus and extra reading resources are also included in the training materials.
This is a virtual course, offered online only and available to registered users of the Officer Virtual Academy at all times. Check out the other available courses.
