Three Pennsylvania police officers rescued an unconscious man from a burning apartment last month.
The incident happened Aug. 25 at Bucks Meadows Apartments in Bensalem Township, according to authorities. Officers Steve Ambs, Kenneth Branford and Samuel Ladd responded to the fire, and once they reached the scene, they began helping people get out of the building.
While searching one smoke-filled building, they discovered a man who was unconscious in the doorway of a second-floor apartment. The officers then carried the man outside to safety.
The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but his condition has improved to stable.
"We are all very blessed to have each of you protecting us as we go about our lives," said Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub, who interviewed the officers.
