Okla. Police Officer Saves Choking Child at Graduation

An Oklahoma police officer is being praised for saving the life of a choking child at an even last week.

The rescue involving Jones Police Sgt. Mo Alzyoud happened Thursday at a graduation ceremony, the department stated in a social media post. A 7-year-old boy began choking on a piece of cndy during the ceremony, eventually turning blue.

The ceremony stopped as the boy's mother cried out for help. Alzyoud, along with other parents at the event, quickly responded to help, and the officer performed the Heimlich maneuver on the child, dislodging the candy from the boy's throat.

No details were given concerning the boy's condition following the incident.
