The .40 S&W was developed by Extreme Shock Ammunition from the ground up as a law enforcement cartridge designed to duplicate performance of the FBI's reduced velocity 10mm cartridge which could be retrofitted into medium-frame (9mm size) automatic handguns.
The Extreme Shock .40 S&W CT2 (Copper Training/Tactical) 100 grain round-nose projectile consists of a compressed copper powder blend of the highest quality. Each round is encased in a copper jacket and topped with a green ballistic tip to aid in fragmentation and identification. Loaded to safe SAAMI pressure specifications, the CT-2 is safer for use in firearms than other brands of frangible or training ammunition. The Extreme Shock CT2 bullets offer an excellent combination of expansion, penetration, temporary cavitations, and sufficient energy transfer to impart hydrostatic shock.
The Extreme Shock .40 S&W 100gr CT2 has a muzzle speed of 1,497 feet per second with 498 ft lbs of energy from a 4 inch barrel.
The Extreme Shock .40 S&W CT2 is ideal for law enforcement use by being both cost efficient yet still retain the ability to stop the threat in a safe manner by limiting secondary casualties. Thus reducing the liability of the department and the officer.
