An LAPD officer suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening after he was struck by a cruiser during the pursuit of a stolen pickup truck in the Sun Valley neighborhood.

Dashboard camera footage was released capturing an LAPD officer being struck by a cruiser during the end of a stolen vehicle chase last week.

The incident happened shortly after 5 p.m. Oct. 13 when police were pursuing a stolen pickup truck in the Sun Valley neighborhood, KTLA-TV reports. During the chase, a cruiser collided with an officer who was running across the street.

The impact of the collision sent the officer into the and onto the pavement, where he slid several feet. The officer is seen in the dashcam footage getting back up on his feet, and he was taken to the hospital.

Although the LAPD did not confirm that an officer was struck by a cruiser, officials did say an officer was struck at the end of the chase. According to the department, the officer did not suffer injuries that were life-threatening.

"We are thankful our officer was not seriously injured in this accident," the agency stated.
