Mass. Police Motorcycle Officer Seriously Injured in Crash

A Walpole police officer was airlifted to a Boston-area hospital with significant injuries after he was involved in a collision with a car while heading into work on his department motorcycle.

A Massachusetts police officer was seriously injured in a Monday afternoon Walpole motorcycle crash.

In a press release, the Walpole Police Department said one of its officers collided with a civilian sedan while driving a department motorcycle at the intersection of Main Street and Spring Street.

Officials said the collision occurred early Monday afternoon at 12:45 p.m., the civilian came out of the collision uninjured and was later released after medical evaluation.

The Walpole police officer suffered significant injuries, according to the department. First responders transported the police officer to a local Boston-area hospital via medical helicopter.

As of Tuesday morning, the department hasn’t released an update on the officer’s injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the officer-involved crash.
