Conn. State Police Trooper Seriously Injured in Crash

Serious injuries were reported following a crash involving a Connecticut State Police trooper out of Clinton on Sunday night, according to the Rocky Hill police, who were assigned to investigate the crash.
Officers from the Clinton Police Department responded to a report of a crash on West Main Street and Hull Street in Clinton on Sunday before 6 p.m. Responding officers found a crash involving an on-duty state trooper in a Ford Taurus and a Toyota Rav4 that had rolled over.
A passenger of the Toyota Rav4 sustained serious, life-threatening injuries in the crash, according to police. The passenger was reportedly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Toyota and the trooper both sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and were transported to nearby hospitals.
Investigations into the crash revealed the trooper was traveling west on West Main Street while responding to an emergency call. The Toyota was traveling south on Hull Street and was making a left turn when the crash happened, police said.
The crash is being investigated by the Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad, composed of officers from Rocky Hill, Cromwell, Wethersfield, Newington and Berlin, at the direction of the State’s Attorney’s Office for the Judicial District of Middlesex, police said.
