2 Ala. Police Officers Seriously Injured when Driver Crashes into Cruiser
- A woman wanted on a warrant fled a traffic stop with her child and another person in the vehicle before crashing into a tow truck and a Huntsville police cruiser, seriously injuring two officers.
A truck was towing three vehicles on a trailer when the driver slammed into a trooper on the side of an Arizona highway, authorities said.
The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. April 2 on the shoulder of Interstate 10 in Buckeye, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post.
The trooper was filling out paperwork from a “non-injury collision report,” about 20 feet off the highway, authorities said.
Then a driver in a Dodge Ram 3500 truck went off the highway and struck the trooper’s vehicle, sending it 60 feet, troopers said.
The trooper was taken to a hospital for possible head trauma, along with other potential injuries.
Authorities said the Dodge driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, troopers said.
Buckeye is about a 40-mile drive west from Phoenix.
