Video: Collision with Pickup Truck Overturns Fla. Deputy's Cruiser

March 21, 2025
A Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy was responding to a call in Brandon when a pickup truck crashed into the deputy's cruiser as it entered an intersection, flipping the vehicle over.

A Florida deputy escaped serious injury when their cruiser flipped over in a collision with a pickup truck earlier this week.

The crash happened shortly after 2:40 p.m. Wednesday when a Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy was responding to a call in Brandon, the agency stated in a social media post that accompanied video of the incident from an intersection camera. The deputy had the cruiser's lights and siren activated at the time of the crash.

In the video, a pickup truck is seen speeding into the intersection and hitting the cruiser. The impact from the collision flips the cruiser before the vehicle ends up back on all four tires.

The deputy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No one else was injured in the crash.

It was unclear if anyone was cited in the incident.
