Metal-Tec 1400 Metal Weapons Detector

The METAL-TEC 1400 is the original Compact, Silent Vibrating, Metal Weapons Detector designed specifically for law enforcement and security applications. METAL-TEC alerts the user by silently vibrating, this gives the user a “Tactical Advantage” by not alarming the subject that a concealed weapon has been detected.  The METAL-TEC can be used as an extension of the officer’s hand during searches to assist in locating metal objects such as; guns, knives, razor blades, handcuff keys, contraband wrapped in metal foils, all of which may have been otherwise overlooked with a conventional hand search.  The METAL-TEC can locate with pinpoint accuracy any metal object both ferrous and nonferrous, and assist the user in determining the object’s size, shape and Threat Level. 

Manufactured of rugged ABS plastic, the METAL-TEC can withstand everyday abuse in the field.  METAL-TEC has only one push-on push-off control switch, which is embedded in the handle and protected by a water tight non-slip rubber grip.  METAL-TEC requires only one hand for operation, there is no adjustment control on the unit, sensitivity is factory preset and automatically compensates for temperature changes that may affect sensitivity. 

The low battery indicator notifies the user when the battery has been depleted to a level that no longer meets operating specifications.  METAL-TEC uses one 9 volt battery that can be inserted in either direction (non polarity sensitive) making battery replacement in the field quick and uncomplicated.   The unit has extremely low power consumption, a single 9 volt battery can exceed over 2,000 individual searches based upon an average search time. 

The METAL-TEC holster is made up of a heavy duty black webbing that includes an upper Velcro strap for easy METAL-TEC deployment. The holster also includes a metal snap, to allow easy removal of holster from a duty belt and also serves as a test feature to indicate proper operation prior to use.  The holster can also be mounted in the patrol car, with the included Velcro mounting kit, which allows the user to switch between carrying it on the belt or vehicle mounting for easy access.

The METAL-TEC is covered by a 3 year manufacturers warranty and is manufactured in the US by TORFINO Enterprises, Inc.
