Rigid Ultra Cuffs - Aluminum or Steel Bow

June 20, 2018

ASP has added a series of rigid handcuffs to its innovative Ultra Cuff product line. Rigid cuffs eliminate the lateral and rotational axes of motion inherent in chain and hinge cuffs, thereby providing maximum subject control. This makes them not only ideal for more resistive subjects, but also for cuffing with arms in front, making them a preferred restraint method for transport and courtroom use. The absence of a connecting chain or hinge also makes possible a very wide, ergonomic center grip, which facilitates faster, safer, more precise cuff placement and application.

Like the other restraints in ASP’s Ultra Cuff collection, the chassis of the rigid model features the company’s exclusive forged alloy frame construction. This provides an optimal combination of strength, security and precision, in a light weight package. It also produces a cuff with no hard angles or rough edges, just smooth, rounded surfaces, for additional safety. ASP’s patented Lock Set system is a modular, component-based design that permits the locks to be removed and replaced. This allows for interchangeable pawl/security configurations, as well as field-serviceability, extending the versatility and duty life of the restraints.

Ultra cuffs are available with steel bows, or weight-saving aluminum bows. They’re also available in “Identifier” versions, with colored bands to differentiate agency or officer property, and in a training configuration with keyless release capability, to speed the pace of training.
