From Television Equipment Associates, the Mk 4 map light can provide visual or IR illumination and operates on internal batteries. Three flood lights and one spot light are operated independently or together - switching between the light modes is achieved by the lip switch or the mode switch. The light intensity can be changed by holding the mode switch down - when the light level reaches the high or low point, it will flash and then restart the light level control process. All controls are on one button for maximum reliability and ease of use. The unit remembers the last light level used - next time you use it, it will go the that level when switched on. Lip Light will not light accidentally - important during a blacked out mission. Light brightness intensity level is controlled. Flood an/or spot lights are independently controlled. Lip actuated modes for latched ON/OFF operations. Lip momentary actuation may be used to retain the on condition while the lip switch is pressed. Push buttons select flood, spot or all lights. Kinematic clamping is provided for single or double boom mic with varying diameters.
The Lip Light weight without batteries is only 4 grams. Each Lip Light Kit includes a Lip Light assembly and 3 batteries (type 675); a storage pouch and common boom-mic adapters.
