Originally developed at the urging of Naval Special Warfare Development Group for 20 meters deep, water-borne tactical operations, Atlantic Signal's Amphibious Assault Headsets are available for use by law enforcement and other public safety professionals. Both the MH180V-AA and MH180H-AA headset models are 20-meter-submersible bone conduction headsets. Initially designed for high cost, submersible military radios, the Amphibious Assault models are modified to allow local, state and federal public safety professionals to have access to and utilize the unique headsets for swift water rescue, tragic flood scenarios similar to New Orleans as well as border and boat patrol scenarios where a standard headset would fail due to exposure and use in extreme environments. Unlike other communication headsets available on the market, submersible or otherwise, the Amphibious Assault models allow the operator to receive radio communications through the face, leaving his or her ears completely unobstructed to hear danger or voice commands in his ambient environment. When required, the operator can employ various forms of inert or electronic hearing protection while having no impact on their ability to maintain radio communications.
