UPDATE
VeriFinger 6.6 comes with improved fingerprint segmentation for increased accuracy of all fingerprint scans, including scans from paper, and provides improved identification and verification.
VeriFinger 6.5 SDK for fingerprint identification includes significant enhancements over the previous version in terms of recognition reliability, with a 20% decrease in the false rejection rate (FRR) when set at the same false acceptance rate (FAR). The new VeriFinger Embedded 1.1 SDK uses the new VeriFinger 6.5 algorithm.
The WSQ Specification sets the standard for the exchange of 8-bit, 500ppi fingerprint images by defining a class of encoders and a decoder that is capable of decoding compressed image data from any compliant encoder. To obtain the certification, a WSQ encoder and decoder must meet specific parameters and implement the full range of functionality required by the WSQ Specification. Compliance is determined by comparing the tested implementation with output from a “double precision reference implementation” developed at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
In addition to the FBI WSQ Certification, the fingerprint algorithms in VeriFinger are NIST MINEX-compliant, making them suitable for use in US Government Personal Identity Verification program fingerprint recognition applications. Neurotechnology’s fingerprint algorithms have won numerous Fingerprint Verification Competition (FVC) awards since 2000 for their high accuracy and reliability.
VeriFinger fingerprint identification technology is available as a software development kit (SDK) for the development of PC- and Web-based biometric solutions. More than 1500 end-user product brands in more than 100 countries have used the VeriFinger algorithm over the past 12 years.
Neurotechnology's VeriFinger is a fingerprint identification technology intended for biometric systems developers and integrators. The technology assures system performance with fast, reliable fingerprint matching in 1-to-1 and 1-to-many modes. The technology includes a NIST MINEX compliant fingerprint engine that is able to match rolled and flat fingerprints. More than 1000 end-user product brands worldwide used the technology over the past 13 years.
VeriFinger is available as a software development kit (SDK) that allows development of PC- and Web-based solutions on Microsoft Windows, Linux and Mac OS X platforms.
The SDK is available in Standard and Extended versions:
- VeriFinger 6.3 Standard SDK is intended for PC-based biometric application development. It includes Fingerprint Matcher and Extractor components, programming samples and tutorials in major programming languages, support modules for more than 70 different fingerprint scanner models and software documentation.
- VeriFinger 6.3 Extended SDK is intended for biometric Web-based and network application development. It contains all features and components of the Standard SDK. Additionally, the SDK includes Fingerprint Client component that enables segmentation for images with several fingerprints, as well as support for WSQ image format and ANSI/ISO biometric standards. Also, this version includes sample client applications, tutorials and a ready-to-use matching server component.
A 30-day SDK trial and fingerprint recognition algorithm demo application are available at Neurotechnology website.
