goTenna and Juggernaut.Case Release New goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit for Rugged and Austere Operations
NEW YORK, NY August 13, 2020 — goTenna, the world’s leading mobile mesh networking company, has partnered with Juggernaut.Case, a specialty designer and developer of military-grade mobile accessories, to enhance off-grid connectivity for dismounted warfighters and first responders. The goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit provides an operator-ready solution for protecting, mounting, and charging goTenna Pro and Pro X mesh networking radio devices with paired smartphones.
Juggernaut’s team of experienced engineers and designers developed a custom-fit tethered cable solution for goTenna Pro and Pro X users operating in the most complex, comms-denied environments. Instead of using a Bluetooth LE connection, the new goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit enables reduced radio signature detection and increased runtime for up to 18 hours of operation.
The full goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit is now available as an add-on accessory package for goTenna Pro and Pro X devices, and includes the following:
- Juggernaut.Case 5V USB Tether Cable and USB-Connector Clip for pairing goTenna Pro or Pro X devices with compatible smartphones, including Google Pixel XL 4 and Samsung Galaxy S8, S9, S9TE, S10, S10E, and now S20 Tactical Edition.
- Juggernaut.Case IMPCT™ Case secured in an inductive-charging Armor.Mount.
- Dark Energy 10,000 mAH Poseidon Portable Charger for up to 18 hours of continuous battery supply for both radio and mobile devices.
- MYSTERY RANCH PALS Panel attached to the operator’s preferred pack, which chest mounts the smartphone and charging case in place of a sternum strap.
Every piece of the goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit is lightweight and ruggedized, and has already been field tested by military, law enforcement, and wildland fire agencies. In addition to providing increased ease-of-use and mobility for individual tactical operators, the Kit’s custom IP67-rated tether cable can also secure goTenna Pro and Pro X devices to an external power source when used as a semi-permanent mesh relay.
“We designed and developed the goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit in coordination with end users in the most demanding operating environments,” says Chris Stalzer, Principal and Liaison for the Military and Department of Defense at Juggernaut. “We’re excited to release this custom-engineered solution that combines the best off-grid mobile connectivity tools on the market today.”
goTenna Pro’s mesh networking technology currently supports over 350 customers in mission-critical operations around the world. Without access to cell, wifi, or satellite, goTenna Pro and Pro X users are able to track individual operator and vehicle locations, share maps, hazards, and other points of interest, and exchange text-based messages in ATAK as well as other native and compatible mobile applications. Now equipped with ruggedized mobile accessories from Juggernaut and other leading technology vendors, goTenna Pro users can securely extend their missions longer and even further off the grid.
“Off-grid mobile connectivity wasn’t a reality for every tactical operator in every mission scenario — until now,” says Daniela Perdomo, Co-Founder and CEO of goTenna. “The goTenna Pro Tether Cable Kit provides the power, security, and convenience our frontline customers need to maintain situational awareness in the most remote and austere environments.”
