C.O.B.R.A. Platform available in N-DEx

March 15, 2010

Information from CODY Systems' C.O.B.R.A. information-sharing platform is available within the FBI's N-DEx database. This information, gathered from across different public safety agencies and RMS vendors through C.O.B.R.A., is being sent upstream, through an interface, to the New Jersey Data Exchange (NJ-DEx), and made available to the National Data Exchange (N-DEx), the Federal Bureau of Investigations' national database. Any agency connected to C.O.B.R.A. in New Jersey that inputs information into its local records management system (regardless of RMS vendor), has that information actively synchronized to C.O.B.R.A. and available for search to other connected agencies' officers and investigators within seconds, via the system's ExpressBridge tool. Each connected agency uses whatever RMS vendor they currently have; C.O.B.R.A.'s ExpressBridge tool takes care of the rest, including sending appropriate information upstream to systems like NJ-DEx. Agencies' information shared with C.O.B.R.A. is synchronized with NJ-DEx within seconds of entry at the agency level. From there, the information is uploaded to N-DEx, where it can be used in solving other crimes on a national level.
