PhoneBase 2 now provides law enforcement agencies worldwide with the capability to retrieve still and video images, and voice recordings from virtually any cell phone handset. This development completes PhoneBase 2's forensic capability and will be provided to existing customers as a free of charge software upgrade. Depending on the handset, images and sound can be downloaded to PhoneBase 2 directly via an infra red link or by cable. Importantly, an encrypted unique digital signature is provided at the point of download to ensure that the evidence is tamper proof. The software provides a paper report, which automatically includes thumbnails of each file format retrieved with a reference to the path in the memory where the data is held.
