SunGard HTE adds the Remote Lineup application to its OSSI Public Safety Software Solutions Suite. This portable tool allows witnesses and victims to make suspect identifications from locations other than the police or sheriff's office, helping improve the speed and reliability of the lineup process and its results. Remote Lineup allows mug shot lineups to be created within SunGard's OSSI Records Management System (RMS), and then exported to a laptop for remote presentation, eliminating the need for traditional printed lineups. The eight image lineups are presented sequentially, rather than simultaneously - a recommended practice for reducing misidentifications due to comparative identifications. The application has the ability to capture information such as: date/time, shown to, locations shown, others present and statement of crime. It also collects witness/victim's responses to each image, and it records time spent viewing each photo in the array.
