November 2022-The Cold Case Foundation, which has been established since 2013, recently began working a new case management software, VIXN, created by Fermata Discovery.
The Cold Case Foundation is a free resource for law enforcement when it comes to cases that may be anywhere from recent to decades old. Developed by former FBI Profiler, Greg Cooper, with John Douglas as the first Chairman of the board and current Chairman Emeritus, the Cold Case Foundation brings a versatile group of experts together in one, convenient network. The members of the Cold Case Foundation are spread throughout the country yet work together in conjunction with law enforcement agencies to provide a fresh look at cold cases.
The mission of the Cold Case Foundation is to be the ultimate resource for homicide, missing person, unidentified bodies, and rape/sexual assault cold cases with serial characteristics. This is accomplished by connecting law enforcement agencies to experts in a variety of disciplines. This is done through funding, consulting, training, networking, and empowering victims.
“VIXN is another example of effective tools that are made available to law enforcement,” said Greg Cooper, Executive Director and founder of the Cold Case Foundation. “ These resources are utilized in supporting law enforcement and victim’s families in resolving cold cases. Through collaboration between the Cold Case Foundation and Fermata Discovery, we expect that VIXN will effectively supplement investigative efforts and resources through managing the analysis and assessment of public data sources”.
