CrimeReports.com is a service from Public Engines that helps law enforcement agencies share crime information directly with members of the public using Google Maps and location-based alerts delivered via e-mail. With CrimeReports a department's raw RMS crime data can be made highly usable, always available and conveniently accessible to citizens through crime lists, e-mails and high-impact, easy-to-understand maps. Citizens receive location-based crime alerts within a defined radius of the locations they choose, ranging from 1/4 mile to 3 miles. Its easy-to-search format includes crime type, location and date, giving users the ability to quickly and easily get a sense of crime activity in their neighborhoods. The service also provides a highly polished analytics and dashboarding capability specifically designed to support COMPStat and related management processes.
