STATE OF CALIFORNIA AWARDS NEW CONTRACT TO INDIANA-BASED ENVISAGE TECHNOLOGIES
BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA – Envisage Technologies, creators of the Acadis® Readiness Suite—a software solution built to manage the complex training operations for high-stakes training environments—announced today that it has been awarded a new contract by the State of California’s Department of State Hospitals (DSH). As part of the contract, Envisage will implement the Acadis® Readiness Suite to replace DSH’s legacy training management system for their law enforcement division. The Acadis Readiness Suite is Envisage’s cloud-based training and compliance solution purpose-built for public safety, corrections, and military professionals. With over 1.1 million first responders and 8,600 departments included in the Envisage client base, Acadis is the preeminent training and compliance software within the public safety sector.
As of 2017, DSH, which provides mental health services to California residents, employs 13,000 staff and serves nearly 13,000 patients annually. The law enforcement division of DSH is responsible for the protection of patients, visitors, and staff for the five state hospitals which fall under the purview of the organization. The Acadis Readiness Suite will be used by DSH to modernize and automate the organization’s training operations for their staff of 1,000 law enforcement professionals. Acadis will track and support the entire hire-to-retire lifecycle of training events, lowering costs while ensuring the accuracy and legal defensibility of DSH’s training records.
“We look forward to assisting DSH as they modernize their approach to training management,” said Ari Vidali, CEO of Envisage. “Acadis will help streamline DSH’s training operations, improve sharing of information with stakeholders, and drive paperless reporting to oversight agencies, which will save a significant amount of money for the organization.”

About the California Department of State Hospitals
The Department of State Hospitals (DSH) manages the California state hospital system, which provides mental health services to patients admitted into DSH facilities. The department strives to provide effective treatment in a safe environment and in a fiscally responsible manner. DSH oversees five state hospitals and three psychiatric programs located in state prisons. Through an interagency agreement with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), we also treat inmates at prisons in Vacaville, Salinas Valley and Stockton. All eight facilities are fully licensed by the California Department of Public Health, and must regularly meet or exceed regulatory standards to continue providing care. DSH was created by Governor Jerry Brown's 2012-13 Budget, which eliminated the Department of Mental Health by transferring its various functions to other departments. As of 2017, the department employs 13,000 staff and serves nearly 13,000 patients annually in a 24/7 hospital system supported by a $1.8 billion budget.
