Badger State Sheriffs' Association Selects Powerheart® G5 as Official AED
WAUKESHA, Wis., Aug. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardiac Science announced today it has partnered with the Badger State Sheriffs' Association (BSSA) to be the exclusive provider of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to the non-profit organization representing Wisconsin's72 county sheriffs.
BSSA selected the Wisconsin-based company because of the suitability of its new Powerheart G5 AED for law enforcement use. Cardiac Science, an Opto Circuits group company, has a long history of implementing life-saving AED programs for law enforcement agencies. An important fact when you consider that when a 911 call is placed, police are typically first on scene to a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) emergency – a condition that kills more than 369,000 people annually in the United States.
"A sheriff's deputy is often the first responder on the scene for a medical emergency," saidDean Meyer, Executive Director of the BSSA. "Having the right equipment is quite literally a matter of life or death. The partnership with Cardiac Science is a great opportunity for us to bring high quality life-saving equipment into sheriffs' offices."
Through the partnership, Cardiac Science will provide exclusive pricing on AEDs for association members, association friends, and community organizations referred by BSSA members.
"Cardiac Science has developed a suite of Powerheart AEDs that are ideal for law enforcement first responders," said Al Ford, Cardiac Science General Manager and Senior Vice President of Sales / Marketing. "These AEDs are ready to use, intuitive, and can withstand the rigors of a police officer's job."
Cardiac Science is offering exclusive pricing on AED packages including the Powerheart G5 AED, the Powerheart G3 Plus AED, Rescue Ready® Management Services, and AED accessories. In addition to pricing discounts, Cardiac Science will make a contribution to the BSSA's scholarship fund for every AED sold through the partnership. The scholarships enable sheriffs and sheriffs' deputies to attend the annual conference of the National Sheriffs' Association.
