Orion Labs Launches AppTalk for Android, Extending its Push-to-Talk Platform Capabilities and Real-Time Team Communication and Collaboration for a Wide Variety of Phones
SAN FRANCISCO, May 16, 2018 -- Orion Labs, provider of the award-winning Orion voice-enabled platform for real-time workforce communication and collaboration, today announced that it has extended its services by launching Orion AppTalk for all Android devices. The AppTalk feature enables workers with an Android device to use the Orion mobile application as a push-to-talk (PTT) tool and easily communicate with other AppTalk users with an iOS or Android device, or via the award-winning Onyx push-to-talk wearable. With this expanded support for Android, enterprises subscribing to the Orion Pro push-to-talk solution can extend instant voice-based communications and automation to more of their workforce, further improving team efficiency and productivity. AppTalk is available immediately.
“Voice is the new user interface, and with our new support for Android, Orion delivers a complete voice experience for organizations across several different industries. Orion allows employees to instantly communicate with their colleagues, as well as with voice-driven chatbots and automations, whether they are using a push-to-talk Onyx device or AppTalk on an iOS or Android device,” says Orion Labs CEO and co-founder, Jesse Robbins. “By allowing enterprises to choose which device works best for their staff, Orion Labs continues to deliver on its vision – to provide companies and teams with the ability to offer everyone in their organization voice-based access to secure, real-time communications, company data and voice-enabled productivity applications.”
A Powerful, Secure, Push-to-Talk Platform for Businesses
AppTalk can be used by teams across a range of industries, such as retail, hospitality, healthcare, public safety and manufacturing, to instantly collaborate with colleagues, regardless of their location or device’s operating system. Whether an employee is using a computer, a tablet or handheld, AppTalk eliminates the need to toggle between different devices. At the same time, businesses that require situational awareness of their employees can continue to use Orion’s award-winning push-to-talk Onyx wearable for hands-free communication in real-time.
Orion’s enterprise customers can also use AppTalk to provide employees with an alternative way to access bots and other productivity-enhancing features, using just a simple voice command. AppTalk comes with many capabilities that improve efficiency on the job such as translation services across global teams or inventory Bots to help retailers quickly manage their stock.
Key Features of Orion AppTalk include:
● Easy-to-use interface - Talk to team members instantly using a simple blue button on the app screen
● Use the right device for each team member - Mix and match smartphones with Onyx users, regardless of the device’s operating system
● Communicate instantly - All online team members hear messages in real-time
● Offline Mode - Taking a break? Offline Mode lets you have some quiet time, while letting you jump back into your group when you’re ready
● GPS Location Tracking - View locations of team members on a map
● Bots and Integrations - Add voice queries, commands, and voice alerts using Orion bots or IFTTT integrations
To use AppTalk, Orion customers must upgrade their Orion Android mobile application to version 5.3.3.
