Pa. Trooper Struck by Passing Driver while Working at Crash Scene

A Pennsylvania State Police trooper was airlifted to a hospital in stable condition after she was hit by a driver while he was responding to a previous crash.

A Franklin County driver struck and injured a Pennsylvania State Police trooper who was responding to an early Monday morning crash, authorities said.

Trooper Megan Frazer said a passing driver hit the trooper around 5:14 a.m., while the trooper was at the scene of a crash on Black Gap Road at Olde Scotland Road in Greene Township.

The trooper, whose name was not released, was airlifted to Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Frazer said. He’s in stable condition as of Monday afternoon.

The driver who hit the trooper stopped after the crash, Frazer said. The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been announced.
