Nev. Tribal Police Officer Killed Trying to Stop Fleeing Suspect

A Nevada tribal police officer was killed when he was struck by a fleeing suspect's vehicle last week.
The incident happened Friday when Pyramid Lake Tribal Police Officer Anthony Francone was deploying stop to stop a suspect when was fatally struck by the suspect's vehicle, KTVN-TV reports. The suspect was then fatally shot by authorities.
Multiple law enforcement law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are investigating the incident. No other details were released about the incident.
Before joining the tribal police, Francone served for over a decade with the Storey County Sheriff's Office, according to a new release by the county. He was the sheriff's office lead traffic enforcement office, as well as the lead accident investigator and field training officer.
Francone also was a deputy with the Eureka County Sheriff's Office.
"Anthony's humor was definitely one of his greatest qualities and he always had a way of making people laugh regardless of the situation," the county news release stated.
