A Harris County deputy sheriff has died after the Texas Center for the Missing had issued an alert for them days prior.
A Houston Regional CLEAR Alert had been issued Thursday for Christina Kohler, 37, who had last been seen a day before in the 7000 block of Sante Fe Drive near William P. Hobby Airport, according to a post by the Texas Center for the Missing. At the time, law enforcement believed her disappearance posed "a credible threat to her own health and safety."
The post was later updated to reflect that Kohler had been located and the CLEAR Alert had been cancelled.
However, Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman took to Facebook on Sunday, writing that Kohler had died the day she was reported missing, but didn't give any additional details.
"Her name, her life, absolutely deserves to be remembered for her commitment to our profession," Herman wrote in his Facebook post.
