Farmers Branch, TX, police officers and DEA agents executed a narcotics search warrant early Wednesday on a warehouse complex, leading to the discovery of about $400,000 in cash and more than 4,600 pounds of marijuana.

DALLAS — A tip from an informant and several undercover purchases led law enforcement to uncover a complex illegal drug operation in Farmers Branch.

Farmers Branch police officers and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents executed a narcotics search warrant early Wednesday on a warehouse complex in the 2000 block of Valley View Lane, leading to the discovery of about $400,000 and more than 4,600 pounds of marijuana, according to a news release.

The monthslong investigation found the suspects were replacing the legal contents of hemp and CBD packages with multiple illegal narcotics, such as marijuana/THC and psilocybin, police said in the release.

The products were allegedly repackaged at the warehouse and shipped to vape shops across Dallas-Fort Worth, other cities in Texas and some locations across the country.

Officers undercover purchased multiple products and submitted the contents for testing, which confirmed the items contained high levels — as high as 70% — of THC and various concentrations of psilocybin, according to the release.

Although people already inside the building were detained during the execution of the search warrant, no arrests were made at the location, police said. The DEA is assuming lead on the investigation and will be the agency that brings federal charges.
