OLYMPIA, Wash. --
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on Friday accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill a district court judge.
Police said 27-year-old James Burnett offered methamphetamine to a cellmate in jail in exchange for killing Judge Kalo Wilcox.
Investigators said Burnett was in the Nisqually Tribal Jail last week when he wrote a letter to his bunkmate offering him an “8-ball” of methamphetamine if he killed Wilcox when he was released.
Burnett was angry at the judge due to a past appearance in her courtroom, police said.
