A very public bowel movement was put to use when a Florida couple needed a distraction for large-scale shoplifting, according to investigators.

It happened in the middle of the day Dec. 18 at a Family Dollar in Mulberry, and the outrageous plan worked, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported in a Jan. 9 Crime Stoppers post.

Detectives are referring to the couple as “Mr. Clean” and “Ms. Dookie” until an arrest is made.

“The suspects ... played different roles as they conspired in their retail theft. Very different roles,” the sheriff’s office said.

“The man walked around the store gathering nearly $500 worth of merchandise (like lots of Gain, Tide, and Clorox products) whilst the woman caused a distraction for employees by using the restroom ... without going to the restroom. The floor was her restroom.”

As employees rushed to clean up the ”stuff,” the man calmly walked past the cash registers with his cart piled high, officials said.

The woman was recorded exiting the store not long after, with a distinct grimace on her face. The two left together in a white Ford van, officials said.

Mulberry is about a 30-mile drive east from Tampa.
