LEA COUNTY, N.M. -- State police continue to investigate the death of Lea County Sheriff Rod Coffman.
Coffman was found dead in his home Sunday night from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, State Police Lt. Robert McDonald said in a prepared release.
Hobbs police and the state police, at about 11:30 p.m., responded to a 911 call at 5201 N. Baggett St., where they found Coffman dead in his bedroom.
Details surrounding the incident remain unknown.
