Reward Offered as Search for Suspect in Tenn. Deputy's Murder Continues

Authorities are offering a reward of over $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of a man accused of shooting and killing a Tennessee deputy during a traffic stop last week.
A manhunt continued over the weekend for Kenneth DeHart, who allegedly murdered Blount County Sheriff's Deputy Greg McCowan and wounded another deputyin the leg Thursday during a stop along a rural road in Maryville, ABC News reports. DeHart faces warrants for first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and felon in possession of a firearm.
"We're committed to track him down," said Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong on Friday. "We're going to get him, and he's going to be brought to justice in Blount County."
Police searched the Wildwood area Saturday, and residents were warned that DeHart was armed and dangerous. Over 150 law enforcement officers searched a dense wooded area for the suspect.
A reward of $80,000 had been offered Saturday, and the amount was raised to over $100,000 later in the day.
Although DeHart is still at large, two others have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Marcus DeHart, the suspect's brother, was apprehended and accused of aiding Kenneth DeHart following the incident. He's being held on a $1 million bond.
The suspect's girlfriend, Carrie Matthews, also was arrested during the investigation. She allegedly received a call from Kenneth DeHart while she was being interviewed by police and warned him of law enforcement's activities.
