Ga. Police Hunt for Home Burglar who Showered, Stealing Key

March 5, 2025
Gwinnett County police continue to search for a suspect accused of breaking into a Lawrenceville home and taking a shower before taking off with multiple items, including a house key.

A break-in suspect robbed a Georgia homeowner of a few items — and grabbed a shower in the process, police said.

The man remains on the run nearly a month after he’s accused of walking into an Atlanta-area home, taking a shower and stealing multiple items, including a house key, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

On Feb. 5, the stranger entered the basement of a home in Lawrenceville through an unlocked door around 4:40 a.m., investigators said.

He showered, then left with a key to the home, a lighter and a folding knife, police said. Authorities released photos of the suspect, a slender man with a tattoo on his upper right arm.

The homeowner confronted the man, who escaped before officers arrived, authorities said.

Police didn’t provide additional details.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Gwinnett County Police Department detectives at 770-513-5300, or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477).

Lawrenceville is about a 30-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
