Simulator Systems International Robotics Division now offers the Sidewinder XL -- a remote controlled, low-profile mobile robot with a 4 axis manipulator arm, designed to perform inspection and reconnaissance in difficult and hazardous environments by remote field operatives. The Sidewinder XL offers color day/night pan/tilt camera with automatic IR. The manipulator arm has continuous wrist rotation and can lift up to 5 pounds when fully extended and 15 pounds in retracted position. Weighing under 30 pounds including manipulator arm, the Sidewinder XL is back packable and can carry a payload of 8 pounds. Rugged tracks and drive motors allows the robot to traverse most types of terrain and conditions.
