Uvalde police and Texas troopers responded to a report that a man dressed in black and carrying a duffle bag had entered an elementary school classroom during the holiday.

A report of a man dressed all in black and carrying a duffle bag led to the Uvalde Police Department to clear a Texas elementary school Monday.

Police responded to a call about a man entering Dalton Elementary School while the school was closed for the holiday, the Uvalde Police Department stated in a social media post, passing along an update from the school district's police force. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers also responded to the call.

Once at the school, police cleared the campus and searched "the entire property and each classroom," but only a teacher had been in the building. Authorities also reviewed the school's security camera footage.

"Upon review of camera footage, the individual was walking outside the fence and had left the property's perimeter before the authorities arrived," the school district police department stated. "The individual was not seen on camera footage on campus or entering a classroom."
