Newly released body camera footage captured Illinois police stopping a knife attack at a car dealership in October.
DeKalb police responded to a report of a man with a knife entering a Toyota dealership shortly before 2 p.m. Oct. 23 when, WLS-TV reports. Once inside the dealership, the man began attacking people.
When police arrived at the scene, the man—identified as Charles M. Tripicchio, 32—refused to drop his knife when ordered to do so. Finally, the man threw a knife at the officer, who opened fire.
Tripicchio was struck by gunfire and flown to a hospital, where he was in good condition. He faces multiple charges, including attempted armed robbery and aggravated battery.
