A Reno, Nevada police officer was wounded, a suspect was dead and another suspect was being sought following a shootout Thursday night.
The incident began around 9:40 p.m. on Kietzke Lane just north of Peckham Lane when the officer attempted to stop a vehicle, according to The Reno Gazette Journal.
Bob Harmon of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office said that during the traffic stop, shot were fired out of the vehicle, injuring the officer.
Two men attempted to flee the vehicle on foot and there was an exchange of gunfire between the officers and suspects.
The wounded officer was transported to local hospital for treatment and remained there Friday morning. One of the suspects died in the shooting.
Police are currently searching for Erick Bernal, who is a known local gang member.
