Signals sent from electric scooters carried in the truck allowed Metro Detroit officers to track down the hijacked vehicle and apprehend the suspect.
Detroit police were able to track a hijacked truck Wednesday thanks to cargo inside.
The Penske truck was stolen at Wayne Sate University, and it was carrying electric scooters for recharging, WDIV-TV reports. Those scooters are what ultimately foiled the would-be hijacker.
Thanks to signals sent by the scooters, Metro Detroit were able to track the truck as it reached Redford Township. That's when the suspect was apprehended.
