Watch 'Super' Texas Police Officers Scale Hospital to Cheer Up Young Patients

Sept. 26, 2024
Dressed as different Marvel and DC characters, Austin police officers rappelled down the side of Dell Children's Medical Center as part of the annual Super Hero Day.

Patients at a Texas children's hospital were paid a visit Thursday by some colorful individuals who made an unusual entrance.

Dressed up as different Marvel and DC heroes—and a few villains—Austin police officers rappelled down the side of Dell Children's Medical Center to say hi to the kids inside, KVUE-TV reports. The costumed display was part of the center's annual Super Hero Day.

After climbing down the building, the officers acted out fight scenes between the good guys and the bad guys in the hospital's courtyard. The event ended with a meet-and-greet and autograph session. The heroes also visited patients in their room.

The medical center says the event's goal is to bring joy to young patients each year.
