A Chicago police officer was struck in the leg by a driver that did not stop while conducting traffic control for a large gathering in the city's South Shore neighborhood.

An officer responding to a large gathering overnight in the South Shore neighborhood was struck by a vehicle while conducting traffic control, Chicago police said.
About 2:15 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a large gathering in the 7500 block of South Phillips Avenue and one officer attempting to conduct traffic control was struck by a white sedan that fled east, police said.
The officer was struck to the leg, and was treated by paramedics and released.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
