B.E. Meyers is proud to present the MAWL-DA, a full featured aiming and illumination laser for individual carbines. Offering improved ergonomics, interface, and performance, the MAWL-DA has been designed from the ground up around the evolved needs of the warfighter.
The B.E. Meyers development team started with a blank slate. They gathered data from a wide pool of end users from regular Army to various SOF. They even trained their engineering team on room clearing and CQB. This investment in development provided a launching pad for a revolutionary product.
The team was able to address issues common with solutions currently on the market including a height over bore problem that had been dictating rifle grip for over a decade. They also made sure that there would be no interference with magnified optics.
Current lasers on the market featured switching so complex that users ended up leaving their device in one setting, compromising, rather than switching – such that their device was rendered less than optimal for most conditions. The MAWL-DA gives the user three easy to move through modes per output setting (infrared or visible) that encourage using the right setting for a given environment.
The MAWL-DA does away with granular illuminator adjustment and complex multi-position switches. The MAWL consolidates these choices into the settings you need: Close Range, Mid Range, and Long Range, with the power and divergences appropriate for each.
Two-button activation simplifies use. An Immediate Action button controls 90% use case outputs per mode. The Admin button activates the other, less critical tertiary functions per mode. A tactile sliding switch allows easy mode determination by feel. Mode changing is rapid and effortless with no complex setting adjustment in the dark.
The MAWL-DA (Modular, Advanced, Weapon Laser - Direct Action) has significantly improved beam pattern and quality at all ranges compared to current market solutions. The MAWL-DA has a visible green pointer, an 860 IR pointer, and an array of 3 IR illuminators tied to discrete, environment specific settings. Modes and power output are set for optimal illumination, beam size, and clarity at each engagement range.
With a separate, interchangeable body, tailcap, and head, the MAWL-DA is a modular system. This makes the unit completely ambidextrous; simply swap the tailcap and head and remount to use left handed. The MAWL can be configured and mounted based on user preferences.
