Holosun's 508T pistol-sized optic is small and compact - offering all of Holosun's featured technologies in one tough and small package. Featuring Solar Fail Safe, Shake Awake, and Multiple Reticle System, this optic can run up to ten years on one battery, or 100,000 running hours.
Holosun optics are built and engineered to run on one battery for as long as possible so the customer has peace of mind that, even if their battery fails, their optic will keep working. One way the HE508T preserves battery life is with Holosun's Shake Awake technology. This feature detects movement in the optic and powers it on or off when moving from a state of rest to movement or vice versa. Thanks to Shake Awake, a HE508T owner never has to wonder if they turned their optic on or off because it does it all on its own.
Additionally, the Solar Fail Safe technology included in the HE508T provides a natural light back-up if the battery should fail during use. Solar Fail Safe uses panels on the topic that gather environmental light to power the high efficiency L.E.D. used to light the reticles. The HE508T uses Multiple Reticle System technology that allows the user to select between a 32 MOA circle, a 2 MOA dot, or both. Working with Shake Awake and Solar Fail Safe, the Multiple Reticle System set to a brightness of 6, running only the 2 MOA dot, can operate off of one battery for ten years. Thinking of everything, Holosun uses only one L.E.D. to light the reticles which further enhances battery saving operations as well as prevents users from having to zero or re-zero each reticle setting. Once properly zeroed, the HE508T maintains its zero as new reticles are selected and as the device powers on and off automatically.
Keeping all this technology safe is a CNC machined housing made from titanium that is durable, corrosion resistant, and lightweight. Holosun uses titanium to house its optics because it is as strong as steel at half the weight as well as moisture and corrosion resistant like aluminum, it is the perfect compromise between the three metals. The HE508T is also water resistant and has an Immersion Protection Rating of IPX8 which protects the device against environmental moisture and against water submersion.
