Once again designer Ken Onion and Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT) prove they are a knockout team. They walked away with a top award for the second year running at the Blade Show and International Cutlery Fair in Atlanta, Georgia.
Onion is known for his assisted opening folders, but here we employed the combination of the blade flipper with bronze bushings at the pivot to allow for fast one hand opening in an exceptional knife. Onion envisioned the Shenanigan PPS as a tool that would be a workhorse and survive everyday use and abuse from abrasion, impacts, solvents - and continue to be rugged and stylish! With a stout 3.25 inches of AUS 8 blade steel in a bead-blast finish, plus a 420J2 stainless steel frame with Zytel handles, this value-priced knife is designed to be used daily on the job and hold up. Contoured handle, index finger notch and checkered grip pattern means the Shenanigan models are very friendly to the hands. The Shenanigan PPS comes with a very useful and slim-profiled custom stainless steel pocket/gear clip with a black Teflon coating.
The PPS is just one of two in this line of sport and work folding knives designed by Onion to meet the demands of ruggedness and daily utility needs. All models feature 3.25-inch long blades with a classic Ken Onion profile. The blade is a modified drop point with a slight recurve and a swedged top edge. Razor-Sharp or Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges are available. The Onion Shenanigan PPS K480KKP has a Razor-Sharp cutting edge while the K480KKS features a combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated Cutting Edge.
Shenanigan Aluminum. The sport models, K470KKP and K470KKS, feature a premium AUS 8 stainless steel blade, with a black titanium nitride coating for corrosion resistance. The cold-forged 6061-T6 aluminum frame with a bead-blast finish is clear anodized for durability.
