New Jersey State Police will soon begin accepting applications from potential recruits for the first time since February 2010.
Attorney General Jeffrey S. Chiesa and State Police Superintendent Colonel Joseph R. Fuentes announced that the application process begin on May 7 and last through May 29 during a press conference at Camden County College on Thursday, according to The Gloucester County Times.

Officials stressed that troopers can create personalized career paths by focusing on individual skills.
"From community policing to homeland security, aviation to marine law enforcement, crime scene forensics to cyber investigations, the New Jersey State Police has a specialty area that is sure to suit an applicant’s unique skills and interests," Chiesa said. "We are looking for bright, energetic men and women who have demonstrated responsibility and character and are up to the challenge to be their best."
Fuentes said the department offers a great starting salary, excellent benefits and continuous training in over 120 exciting career paths.

Minimum Requirements to Apply:
* Applicants must be at least 21 years old and must not reach their 35th birthday prior to the graduation of their State Police class.
* Applicants must have: (1) a bachelor's degree; OR (2) a minimum of 90 college credits currently and complete their degree by a specified date prior to the written examination; OR (3) an associate's degree or 60 college credits, PLUS at least 24 months of satisfactory employment or military experience; OR (4) 30 college credits, PLUS at least 24 months of active duty military service with an honorable discharge..
