(FEBRUARY 28, 2017 — PRINCETON, NJ) – On February 9, NAFA Regular Member Sara Burnam, CAFM®, was promoted to Director of the Fleet Management Division for Palm Beach County, Florida. Burnam replaced Douglas Weichman, CAFM®, who has accepted the position of Fleet Management Director for the City of Gainesville, Florida.

Burnam has been Assistant Director of Fleet Management since September 2015. Previously she was with the Ohio State Highway Patrol from 2008 to 2014. "I feel very fortunate to be given this opportunity," Burnam said. "(Douglas) created a wonderful fleet program for Palm Beach County. I am excited about the opportunities this position affords and look forward to continuing to grow our program."

Burnam currently serves as 2017 Institute & Expo Arrangements Committee Chair and was instrumental in coordinating this year's conference which takes place in April in Tampa, Florida.

Burnam noted Weichman's longstanding reputation as a fleet mentor and proponent of education, saying, "Without Douglas, and other influences from earlier in my career, I wouldn't be in the position today. I strive to be a positive influence with everyone I come in contact with, and would encourage all wishing to advance, to seek out a mentor to help in their professional growth.

"We are fortunate that Palm Beach County is supportive of providing continuing training and education for our staff. CAFM® certification and continuing (fleet) education have contributed to the success of our organization and are very important to me. I plan on enhancing our education and training in the future."

NAFA congratulates Sara Burnam, CAFM®, on her continued success.
