'NO F*#CKING HATE ' 6 Pack Fitness Helps Atlanta Cops Stay in Shape
At 6 Pack Fitness, Oakland, CA based company, we believe that Fitness, “The Gym” and sports in general are meant to bring people together. During some of the darkest times in history, athletics has given us a sense of community, and renewed faith in each other. When our founder, Misha Breyburg, heard about Jim Chambe rs, owner of EAV Barbell Club gym in Atlanta, saying “NO F*#KING COPS”, he was at best disappointed, and more accurately disgusted at such a hateful and discriminatory statement, used towards an entire group of people. What if that statement had said, “NO F*#KING BLACKS, JEWS, CHRISTIANS, or HOMOSEXUALS ”? How can anyone in the United States be ok with such a hateful statement excluding one specific group of people?
“Prior to this statement from this less than “open” gym owner , I have always thought of any gym, box, or dojo as a place where it didn ’t matter who you were in the outside world. It was a place you came and left it all out with sweat, blood, and guts!” said our founder Misha Breyburg.
"As immigrants, we are incredibly grateful to this country for allowing us to become productive members of its diverse tapestry of people. Even though we were different, we were given the opportunity to rise and thrive here, as is every citizen! Painting a ny group with one brush, including the police and the military, goes against the very principles that built this great country ”, said Gera Rivkin the CEO of 6 Pack.
We believe in everyone ’s right to becoming the best version of themselves, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, occupational calling, or otherwise.
So, we decided to do something about it. Unfortunately, we don ’t own a gym in Atlanta where we would love to invite everyone including Cops, Military, Fire Fighters or EMTs to jo in. What we can do is help make the ostracized group ’s fitness journey a little easier and more productive. Everyone know, that 70% of a fitness journey is nutrition, and that’s where we come in, especially for cops who spend most of their life out in the streets serving and protecting!
We would love to donate $20,000 worth of our fitness meal prep bags and accessories to the Atlanta Police Department, to help them achieve and stay on their fitness goals. We would like them to know that they are not alone and that not everyone in the fitness world looks down on them. On the contrary, they are respected and appreciated for what the great majority of them do for the communities. In addition, we would also like to donate $20,000 in products for the APD to deliver to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Atlanta.
Our hope, is that this small token of support will help bring the community together again, where they can inspire and uplift one a nother, instead of tearing each other down. We would also like to challenge any gym in Atlanta to offer a few free memberships and we will give them that same value in fitness bags
It is ironic that Jim sta tes on his website that he discovered his passion for fitness while he w as livi ng in Russia. We, as Russian immigrants know what an actual police state looks like. It is a shame that he chose to promote ugly and dishonest stereotype grouping everyone in t he military and police in one light. Shame on him.
