Virtual Conference Will Feature Latest Lie Detection Technology Advancements for Law Enforcement
LEHI, Utah – April 12, 2022 – To better compete for the limited pool of qualified job applicants, many law enforcement agencies have updated their hiring process. One change includes adding a new lie detection test that quickly determines if a job candidate should be disqualified before additional time and expenses are spent on background checks, interviews, and a polygraph exam.
Police depts. can learn more about this new technology, EyeDetect by Converus, and other innovations at CONNECT ’22 on April 26-28. Attendance is free of charge, but registration is required. Due to COVID concerns, it will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams.
Nearly 70 law enforcement agencies use EyeDetect to quicky find the truth. It’s a nonintrusive lie detector that can spot a liar in 15-30 minutes by analyzing involuntary eye behavior during an automated computer-based test — to screen job applicants for drug use, commission of serious crimes, and other criminal or unethical behaviors.
“[EyeDetect] has saved us countless hours conducting background investigations on candidates who were destined to fail a polygraph because they were lying,” said Justin Davis, Background Investigator/Hiring & Recruiting, Kent City Police Dept.
CONNECT’22 will feature peer-reviewed research, product demonstrations, and case studies. One of the speakers will be a New Mexico sheriff’s office that combines EyeDetect with polygraph in pre-employment screening. Other presentations include a community-based treatment program that performs testing for state and federal probation and a company using EyeDetect in insurance fraud investigations.
