Training hand grenade

Dec. 11, 2008

Securesearch Inc.’s multi-purpose training hand grenade, with stake mine conversion option does not detonate. It houses a large smoke/flashpot, used for one session and can then be replaced — the grenade is reusable many times. Its housing is made from a durable plastic resin and is modeled on a Soviet F1 hand grenade, a widely-distributed hand grenade. It has a standard type rotating safety lever (permanently attached) and a cotter pin/pull-ring assembly. Securesearch produces it in a size about 20 percent larger than the live grenade. It can be supplied in many colors, but olive green is standard. It can be ordered with one of three different electronic fuzes: instantaneous for boobytrapping exercises; a 6-second time delay fuze to allow for throwing or rolling, and an adjustable time delay fuze that operates within the range of approximately 2 seconds to 7 minutes maximum. A simple adjustment changes the setting. Two small alkaline batteries supply the power to operate the fuze circuitry, and initiate the smoke/flashpot. Fresh, fully-charged its batteries allow for up to 100 uses before replacement.
