The StressVest system utilizes a training firearm that fires a laser pulse that is read when it strikes center mass. Depending on the setting, the vest will either deliver a vibration or a safe, localized shock to the abdomen.
Center Mass Reward System
Unlike projectile systems that make it difficult for role players to determine shot placement by students, the Stressvest only acknowledges center mass hits. This forces the students to continue to shoot until proper shot placement has been obtained. After the scenario, the Instructor can read the number of successful hits to either the front or rear of the role player or student. Side, arm, leg and head panels can also be added to the StressVest system.
Minimal Safety Equipment Required
Unlike projectile systems that require all observers and participants to wear multiple pieces of safety equipment, the StressVest system does not require any protective equipment. This allows students to observe suspect’s facial expressions, communicate clearly and creates a safer environment for observers.
Advanced Training Modes
• Role Player Mode causes a vibration to be delivered when the vest registers a hit.
• Stress Exposure Mode causes a safe shock to be delivered to the abdomen of the student when a hit is registered. The level of shock can be set prior to the start of the scenario.
• Move to Cover Mode will cause an increase in pain sensation with each successive hit. This mode motivates students who stand in the open during an encounter to move to cover or concealment.
• Injured Officer Mode causes a shock to be delivered with the first hit. Then the vest will deliver successive shocks at a varied interval causing the student to have to continue through the scenario with pain being delivered.
