Watch Suspect in Pot Theft Crash into Home During Mich. Police Chase

March 24, 2025
A suspect believed to be involved in a burglary at a Detroit marijuana distribution facility led police on a chase through Warren and back to Detroit before losing control and crashing into a house.

A Michigan police chase with a suspect accused of burglarizing a marijuana distribution center over the weekend ended when the man lost control of his truck and crashed into a home.

The incident happened shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday when Detroit police responded to a burglary report at the pot distribution facility, WDIV-TV reports. Investigators connected Saturday's call with similar burglaries and were possibly looking for Chevrolet pickup truck.

The suspected vehicle was spotted in Warren, and police tried to make a stop. The driver fled, and the pursuit returned to Detroit. Dashboard camera footage captured the wild chase.

As the pursuit continued, the suspect lost control and crashed into an unoccupied home. The 29-year-old suspect, who has an "extensive" criminal record, was taken into custody, and officers seized “a large amount” of marijuana from the truck.

Investigators are continuing to see if the suspect is involved with similar commercial robberies in multiple counties.
