Fugitive Squirrel Damages Oklahoma Sheriff's Cruiser
OKLAHOMA CITY --
The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office said this squirrel has vandalized government property and wants the rodent brought to justice.
After a nearly two-week crime spree gnawing on the insides of deputy cruisers, a fugitive squirrel was captured by Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies on Tuesday.
The squirrel's apprehension was captured by video and posted to YouTube by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff made the announcement on Twitter and told the squirrel that her run was officially over.
The scofflaw has been avoiding police for nearly two weeks and taunted the sheriff on Twitter. The squirrel's account had 172 followers as of Tuesday afternoon.
"Even though she caused nearly $700.00 in damages to an OCSO vehicle, the squirrel has been pardoned and is set for release in better surroundings," said sheriff's spokesman Mark Myers.
